Everyone, please welcome my new son Haru. I picked him up today from the rescue. He had been there for a while, it seemed like nobody wanted him because he's a large boy and also he has a chronic respiratory issue (the same one Hana has).
I think he might be the perfect bunny.
I put him and Hana into a new space I set up in my kitchen, so they can get to know each other on neutral ground. The first thing Haru did was sit down right in the middle of the space and start devouring bell pepper pieces, then clean himself because he got soaked in the juice, then devour more veggies.

Hana was unsure about the situation at first, but she warmed up to him incredibly quickly. Within half an hour, she was giving him kisses. I think we got very lucky with this bunny. I've never seen two bunnies get along this quickly and easily. Usually they chase each other around or even fight and injure each other. Hana and Haru, so far, seem to just have decided they are friends right away.

I think Hana will be much happier and more comfortable now that she's got not just me for company. And Haru finally has a real home with a lot of space, which he will be able to go explore very soon.
