In Canada, we've got toffee in bar form - a big, hard bar of toffee shaped like a chocolate bar. I've loved it since I was a kid, though I don't buy it too often these days. It was unavailable for a few years after the factory was damaged in a fire, but they ended up being able to bring it back.

When I was a kid it was circus peanuts. Now I think I just like a good butterscotch or hard caramel.
Necco Wafers are fantastic, good choice. My top picks would probably be Ritter Sport, I think their marzipan bar is probably the greatest confection mankind has ever confected, and for an old school UK candy I would go for the Milky Lunch bar.

I'm not sure how "Old School" it is, but my moms side of the family really liked tamarind hard candy and lychee jello cups. Do those count?

I'm not sure if it's truly old-school but it feels old-school -- those chewy maple-dipped peanuts, usually they come in a clear plastic bag at Runnings or someplace similar. They were a favorite of mine since I was a kid, and sometimes my parents still get me a bag of them for Christmas if they manage to find them somewhere.
Also a big fan of the strawberry hard candies that come in the strawberry wrapper.
BIG fan of lemon drops. Can't go wrong with a classic butterscotch candy either~

Necco Wafers are really good. I'm not sure about "favorite" but I really like those barrel-shaped root beer hard candies.
I got into anise flavored hard candy when I worked at a summer camp and wanted a sugar boost that the kids wouldn't beg for.
ooh, didn't think of cherry sours. you can find them in bulk a lot of places, or on the Local Generic Candy Rack, so they don't have the same specialty supplier vibe as Necco, but they definitely have the vintage and yes they are Quite Good
Oh... ough... I have made my cheeks raw with a bag of cherry sours before... the idea of getting them in bulk is dangerous.
