Getting assigned Burnout 3: Takedown in a like, semi-formal game club thing has really opened up my mind to racing games, honestly? It's such an oldhead thing to say but goddamn they don't make shit like this anymore.
Adding that to the list of "games that wouldve changed my tastes irrevocably had I played them earlier in life" right up with Silent Hill 3 LOL
oh burnout 3 rules!! there's so many good racing games of all kinds out there. burnout paradise is also real good (though I've actually not played a lot lot of it for whatever reason?) and I have a soft spot for burnout 2 since I played it a lot as a kid too, though 3 is probably better in every way technically
The Forza Horizon games come kinda close, but they have traces of that live service sleaze. Nothing matches up to that style of arcade car destruction though.
Yeah, my short time with Horizon 5 was fine but it didnt feel like something worth my effort ahaha
