we did it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the marines from the levianthan box are now all built. we're in discussion to split yet another box with a friend (siberys) so that he can get into 'nids again because we're all adults and this is our toy-time. also extremely exciting things you may notice in this shot is that we have 3 characters with resin heads! this is because we've indulged in our best tendencies and have decided that our space marines are going to have a very high number of ladies. and the best way to start that is to do it right from the jump, so here we go!

next step on the block is to prime them all black and then do the whole "zenithal priming" with tamiya grey. this will force us to try out our washes (as we've got a good number) as much as we can get away with so we stop being nervous around this. it will also mean that we do the washes & then we go back with opaques! and! fingers crossed this will look good!

(we are debating buying a darker green wash than the vallejo green-wash, we're not sure if that's gonna be the colour we want,,,,)

to send you off, a close-up on our models that deviate from the leviathan box!

A Space Marine infernus sergeant and Primaris lieutenant both with catgirl heads, and terminator armor with a knight-like helmet.
Ahahahahah the dark nyangels.

I did a test of army painter absolution green vs citadel dark angels green and found the citadel contrast to be very streaky and unwieldy (right) and army painter to be much more manageable (left)
