i'm going to be thinking about this one for a while. the victoria 3 devs naively programmed the economy to give workers raises whenever the buildings they worked at became more profitable. they got reports from players saying "i'm doing everything i can to play the worst most miserable piece of shit monarchy possible, why is the proletariat so happy???" so they had to rush to patch in alienation of labor

Not the usual kind of realism patch you see in games but kudos to them for doing it.
grand strategy game patch notes (especially early on) are the fucking best, because they'll add a new mechanic and be like "oh wait, shit, we made a better version of the world without thinking about it"
