idea, I become the first cohost-fluencer big account to a degree it forces the staff to change the one piece of engagement metrics they inexplicably left out in the open, the comments counter, as all my chosts start to consistently garner so many comments it can no longer be ignored. then instead of a number it just says "leave comment" if there's 0 and "see comments" if there's more.

I've had half a mind to start genuinely shifting my posting energy from twitter to here, but there's still a number of annoyances and grievances with this place I'm not yet over. I'm mainly writing this now just to remember what it feels like to post with hopes of engagement other than the fucking crypto spam bots replying within 0.01 seconds of literally any tweet.

but it seems like any way I can point out that this site uniquely sucks is gonna be met with dweebs chiming back "hehe well that's the point you see ☺️"

like ohhh no yucky metrics or data on posts, but wtf does "0 comments + 1 on shared posts" mean? when does anyone ever need to know what exact iteration of a post happened to receive a comment, of all things?

like come on, if you can tell me that then you can let me see the full tree branch graph of a post's reblog history and such.

"HuehUohhUh you just wanna stick to the most populated place, you must so brain poisoned by engagement numbers" I literally just want meaningful connections, no platform I've tried in my life so far has facilitated or streamlined the discovery of like-minded people to form bonds and lasting friendships with, I've always had to teeter between being soul-crushingly alone or pouring my precious little energy into attempts at socializing that have yet to pay off in the long run.

I gotta hear all day from accounts I follow how much the internet keeps getting worse for artists and other such creatives who have to market themselves with the ever changing and degrading landscapes and tools, how do you think it is for everyone else? us usual people who primarily consume and no major outlet or content to offer up? the dominant online communication avenue is fucking DISCORD SERVERS. hell.
