i think it's very cruel to keep sharing around a post from someone complaining about the lack of conversation on here about what's happening in Gaza when that person has actual skin in the game. dismissing someone scared for the fate of their people as just being internet poisoned is cruel
While I don't agree with their claim -- I've certainly not been quiet on the issue here, at least, though not as active in posting as on Twitter -- I agree that some of the more mean-spirited responses haven't sat well with me.
They're like the first step to the sort of posting dynamic you see in some parts of Mastodon where you get "TW: Reparations". Not excited for the potential of people to opt out of these sorts of conversations on the basis that they find it uncomfortable and have maintained ignorance.
