The Voice of Dog is looking for ghost, horror, or otherwise spooky stories for our Halloween theme month, Ghost of Dog.

Stories may be scary and unsettling, or campy, or gothic, or silly as long as they are silly about spooky subjects. Usual standards apply (under 10k words, no bigotry, No AI), but for this month we consider the "No Bummers" rule to have more latitude than usual. Desired tone is anywhere from Twilight Zone to Campfire-with-a-flashlight-under-your-chin.

We will be accepting at MOST 13 submissions this year, for each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday in October. Deadline for submissions is September 1st. Please contact Rob MacWolf on telegram or discord, Voice of Dog on Bluesky, or mywaywardson@gmail.com for more information or for submission templates.

We currently have eleven of out maximum thirteen episodes submitted (barring some negotiated expansion, which isn't ruled out) so if you've got something but haven't submitted it yet don't delay!

Picking up a distress call in the middle of the dead zone, the train has no choice but to indulge their curiosity and investigate.

Tonight’s story is the second and final part of “Winterfall: the Dark Mile”

by Lauren Rivers, Author of Blue Moon by Iridescence Studios, and you can find more of her stories on Furaffinity.

Last time, the train encountered a distress signal in the middle of a massive dead zone. Intrigued by the impossibility, they have gone to investigate.
