The Voice of Dog is looking for ghost, horror, or otherwise spooky stories for our Halloween theme month, Ghost of Dog.

Stories may be scary and unsettling, or campy, or gothic, or silly as long as they are silly about spooky subjects. Usual standards apply (under 10k words, no bigotry, No AI), but for this month we consider the "No Bummers" rule to have more latitude than usual. Desired tone is anywhere from Twilight Zone to Campfire-with-a-flashlight-under-your-chin.

We will be accepting at MOST 13 submissions this year, for each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday in October. Deadline for submissions is September 1st. Please contact Rob MacWolf on telegram or discord, Voice of Dog on Bluesky, or mywaywardson@gmail.com for more information or for submission templates.

We currently have eleven of out maximum thirteen episodes submitted (barring some negotiated expansion, which isn't ruled out) so if you've got something but haven't submitted it yet don't delay!

There are tales of monsters on such nights as tonight, but what happens when you are the monster, that there is something clawing away at the inside, something you know is wrong, but you cannot ever confront it?

Tonight’s story is “Eat Your Heart, Your Feelings, or Both,”

by Leuna, who works as an essayist, and is writing surreal short fiction at FurAffinity.

Read by B. P. Rugger, the ineffable Moo Moon, and by Yuugen, wolf of Wanderlust.
