Bleen and I started watching Revue Starlight and I've watched Inu-Oh a bunch lately and there is just something extremely charming about the effort put to recreate diegetic theatrical techniques and stagecraft through the animation, even when there's already some elements of magical realism going on.

It reminds me of the original Sailor Moon anime, especially in the first season, a lot of the monster of the week designs sort of felt like a suit character from a tokusatsu series, like they were constrained by restrictions that absolutely did not actually exist in an animation series compared to a live-action production. It's just weird little details that help series feel more grounded.
