This isn't a full-throated recommendation since I only tucked in for like an hour and don't really feel like I've gotten into it enough to do so honestly yet but today I learned about Palia, a "Cozy" life sim MMO that is basically just all the things you do in other MMOs to chill out between the combat. It's fishing and farming and romancing. It's Stardew in MMO form. I'm hoping it's good! I'm hoping it has legs. It's only a few months old right now so hopefully enough people jump in to give it life and support; it's free but you can buy premium currency for fancy outfits, etc etc. It seems extremely up my alley and hope some of y'all might check it out too.
After spending a couple evenings with this: this game kicks ass. It's exactly what it promises, it is Chill and Cute and Charming. I'm haven't gotten super far to it and it's not without issues I could point at (the character creator, for one), but I appreciate that its progression hooks lack urgency while still scratching those life sim and MMO itches. The farming and cooking has some nice extra depth to the mechanics that you can get when it's the core of the game rather than one of the side features that got tacked on. Definitely hope this catches on.
