Dad used to shoot little model rockets with me when I was growing up, naturally I had to draw where we used to shoot.

Cohost went up pretty quick, and sadly, the return to earth is a bit faster than the cardboard tube can withstand.

At least I was around to see it fly.

Hey. Thank you for reposting this and liking it so much. I've never gotten anything to take off like this did here, it's a really swell last moment thing.

I'm a furry porn artist by trade, it means a lot to see folks like @tuxedodragon pass my work around. This community has always been cool to me, even though I've mostly become notorious for trying to journalism too hard. Another peer called me the "Hbomberguy of furry website deplatforming", which is high praise. It'll be hard to get an audience that understands the serious over-reach of U.S.-lead Obscenity Law practices that have permeated out into the global internet. Cohost mixed queers of all stripes (many academics with serious qualifications I could never get myself) who I respect and on occasion respectfully disagree on minutia with. It's been enriching, it's refined my writing skills, it's given me harsh lessons in a controlled environment about over-estimating my knowledge.

Confession time: Patreon didn't go public this year, and I have no fucking idea what that means for the company. I keep getting messages telling me to 'update my identity information' for the creator account I no longer use. I will keep that in the crosshairs. Monetary Deplatforming delivered many curveballs this year like the Stripe TOS change, so it remains a focus of mine. You will want to follow my Furaffinity which is where I will attempt to keep my "journalism" up for now. Information control via the AUP/TOS on Furaffinity has a stifling effect on academic works mind, so I'll be moving from there for my important queer topics writing quickly.

I'm typing this up in hopes you see this attached and go "oh actually let's keep in touch". My screen name is also my alias on Discord, I have Furaffinity, Itaku.ee, Weasyl, SoFurry, Inkbunny, and other places too (my badly neglected Mastodon is as if not more popular than my Furaffinity with people following). Ever since the Summer of 2023 when my work titled That's Obscene! dropped, I've been keenly focused on Queer Erasure due to Monetary Deplatforming. If you've read anything else I've written on the topic (boy do I have a lot, not all of it particularly good) you know where this conversation is going. For the rest, if you missed the news: Cohost is Dead, the Funeral is probably the eve of September 30th when we all try to squirt one last post out before it enters its Read-Only State.

The financials from this last full calendar make me skeptical of even that target, knowing full well that the site's hosting could be paid on a monthly basis, but also might not have been. It'd have been ridiculous to pull the plug without this kind of 'okay well here's some paper, make your copies' warning, but we knew damn well in March and April of this year that things were going this way. The Summer brought about miracles, but those miracles didn't make up the funding shortfalls, not by a long shot, and bad PR from the way Cohost's operation has been run has ultimately been a decisive factor. I stopped paying for Cohost+ last year due to financial deficits, but naturally, others cancelled due to bad tastes in the mouth.
