Hey Cohost! I have the opportunity to get HRT finally but I don't have he finances to start.
The Context
I'm a trans woman living on the nightmare isle that is the UK. Getting HRT on the national health service takes so long that some people (myself included) can wait years and numerous politicians want to make this even harder. Right now. I would have to go through a Gender Identity Clinic for free HRT. There's only one of these in the entire country that offers free care of any kind. GICs are full of people who will question your transition at every step. I've even heard stories of them bullying people to try to convince them they aren't trans.
The Solution
I found out about GenderGP recently. A private healthcare service which talks to your doctor and helps them manage your care. They can arrange blood tests, sort out dosage calculations and even help your doctor go on training courses the better handle your care. I also get to bypass a Gender Identity Clinic, which is just magical.
The Catch
GenderGP isn't free and while I can easily handle the monthly payments, the startup cost is unfeasible for me.
This is where you come in
I need Β£320 (adjusted because I need blood tests done as well as a health check for my heart before they can give me a prescription).

rechosting to boost but also to add that gender identity clinic waitlists can be up to 10 years for a first appointment and are usually at the very least half of that, with usually a year or two to your second appointment.
even without the quality of care being often at best questionable, and even without the aftermath of the cass review, folks in need of gender affirming healthcare in the uk have an incredibly hard time accessing it - and for many the complications of such prolonged dysphoria are fatal. even once you manage to get in for an initial appointment, the wait is far from over, and every step of the way is a fight designed to be as hard as possible. the state of trans healthcare in the uk is abyssmal. if you can, please help trans folk in the uk access private care.
