Prying open the door to the bell tower, Fumio stepped inside first and took a look around with his lantern. No sign of any Obsidian Knights! The shadows along the floor and walls moved normally, making him sigh in relief. He peered behind the door as well, shining the lantern behind it. Nothing.

“Alright, we’re safe.” He said in relief, allowing Kaede to step into the room. Her eyes were bright beneath the mask, shimmering hard as alternating waves of relief and trauma fueled memories crashed over her in rapid succession. Lips trembled with immense fear and intense excitement, her heart pounding violently in her heaving chest. Trepidation and elation filled every step as she reached out with quivering hands for the lever to ring the bell, only to come to a grinding halt as a strange sensation filled her body.
Her vision became tinted in a sickeningly bright hue of green as her movements grew stiff, her body growing heavy as she stood stock still in front of the lever. “My deepest apologies, but I can’t let you do that, Princess Kaede~” A voice mockingly droned, Fumio violently whipping around to see a bubbling shadow on the wall spit out a tall man.

He was a bit shorter than Jiro, long red locks brushed behind his ears. A slight curl in his hair, as if someone had tried and failed to completely straighten it. Neon green irises, indicating he was under the Empress’ control but had enough of her trust to appear more normal. Black armor emblazoned with the upside down heart that had become synonymous with the Obsidian Empire, a cruel smirk on his face.
