too late, perceive deadpan prince adoring frog
Yoshiki let out a noise of horror and disgust as the frog jumped closer to him, stepping backwards as far as he could get without falling into the koi pond. “What is that thing?” He couldn’t hide the tone in his voice, looking at the group with an expression like he’d be sick. “A frog.” Ryuhei answered as he approached, gently picking the frog up. “Ryuhei, don’t touch it! It’s slimy!” Yoshiki chastised him, yet Ryuhei ignored him as he gently rubbed his index finger over the frog’s head. “Frogs aren’t covered in slime, it’s a layer of mucus that they produce as their moist bodies operate like a giant lung and pass gasses through their skin. The mucus helps keep their skin wet so that it can work properly.” He looked up at Yoshiki as he crouched down to pick up another frog, which landed on his head.
“Oh, hello friend.” He let the frog stay there as he stood up, still somewhat petting the frog that was sitting in his hand. “Aren’t they cute?” His monotone voice seemed to hold a tiny bit of emotion in it, honeyed eyes shimmering with wonder as the frogs began to ribbit.
