One thing I've not had an outlet for is anything 18+ (sexual) content/posting. Not exactly personal nudes/crudes or art, but just talking my mind and self-reflection.

There's 18+ and content tags on Cohost that blocks out posts for folks who don't wish to engage, but I'm wondering if I should just create an entirely different subpage for it anyway?

Thoughts/Experience appreciated, interested or not. I'm just pondering my options here.

I've seen a few people who have made private accounts for personal stuff, and linked that account to certain trusted people. With a more public facing persona, sometimes it's good to have a bit of distance and prevent bad cases of parasocial friendships gone wrong.

But, if it's not that personal in nature, the same account with some content warnings (if necessary) is fine. And if you don't like how it's working out, in the great words of Da Share Z0ne, "Hit da bricks" and delete the entries.

You're right honestly! I do gotta remember I have a public-facing persona. I should be better safe than sorry in that regard. I had one on Twitter, but it felt like void-yelling (which was still cathartic!) Thanks for that!

I'll second the notion that, with a more parasocially at risk presence, it might not be a bad idea have some degree of separation for safety reasons if it's going to be somewhat more personal posting. Outside of that though, I think Cohost's filters are put together well enough that it wouldn't be a problem if you wanted to just keep everything in one space.

Yeah, that's a point I hadn't really considered wrt parasocialness. I have that "gap" in reality and I do need to navigate it smartly. Hence asking smart folks! Good to know that there's general confidence over Cohost's filters though!

if you're thinking of posting spicy pics? Absolutely separate accounts.

If its just like, adult thoughts, and stuff, content warnings and 18+/adult content filter should be fine I believe.

I'd also make sure to post that your account on the main page/post/profile does occasionally have these.
