Dude, I cannot tell you how disappointed I was in that last season of Ed, Edd, n Eddy. They devolved the characters into one note tropes of themselves. Eddy was such a scumbag that Ed and Edd had no reason to continue hanging out with him.

The only reason why I don't absolutely hate that season is because it feels somewhat real. I've had multiple guy friends that had what can be best described as orange flag behaviors and mannerisms. In hindsight they were all red flags, but I didn't know that at the time. By the time I realized they were red flags, it was pretty much the equivalent to Eddy in that last season. Cutting them out of my life resulting in them having meltdowns and resorting to the classic narcissist response of "Well, you need to tell me what I did wrong, but I don't deserve this".

Arg, I could go on, but I think you get the idea. If anything, Eddy serves as a cautionary tale for me.

I honestly didn't know the final season of Ed, Edd, and Eddy existed until somewhat recently. So I haven't seen it and only saw a review of the last season from a YouTube video. It mimics a lot of what you're saying though:" Eddy is a wart in everyone's side and no one should spend time with him.

But, on the other hand, it sounds real as hell. As a high-school-age kiddo, there were people who belong in jail for shit they were doing that I was hanging out with. I didn't know what to do when faced with that sort of activity, especially when I didn't have any other friends. So I can relate from afar as well.

The TV Special/Movie that closed the series was pretty rad at least. It ends on a very positive note and makes up for how lame that last season was.

I'm glad, I'm not the only one that can relate to a situation like what Ed and Edd experience with Eddy though. On two separate occasions in my life I've had to cut people who I thought of as brothers out of my life once I saw the real versions of themselves they hid behind closed doors.

One turned out of be a pedo and rapist, the other turned out to be the worst alcoholic narcissist I've ever encountered (nearly drove his ex to suicide) and when I cut him out, he blamed me for everything that went wrong in his life. In an humorous twist of fate, both of them are now stuck living with their parents in the bigoted small town we all grew up in.

You're absolutely right! The more, well spent, time they gave to her the better character she became. The therapy episode still sticks with me to this day. Not that I watch shows much any more, but nothing else really compares to her realm of character, so we're in the same boat.
