I enjoyed it a lot! I would say it's the best game aping Fromsoft not made by Fromsoft. A really solid B+ of a game.
It is effectively a straight line, and you backtrack for sidequests as you go. Very neat game
Big hallway with limited but not-exactly constricting paths to go back and forth on? Heck yeah!
Nioh and Nioh 2 are also non-open world. they also have by far the best combat of any soulslike imo.
My friend pines about those games and I do have Nioh 2 (we tried to run a multiplayer stream and it didn't work.) I guess I have no excuse to not play it.
