i broke through to platinum 5 in street fighter 6 tonight on stream, and had some great matches in dnf duel too. even had someone i casually found in dnfd ranked matches the other day come by stream for some sets and then got into some great pickup games with other players just coming by to hang out. dead game my black ass!

i think it also helped me crystallize that...yeah. I really do wanna make it to diamond with cammy and juri. just because...it's nice to have a goal. just to see if I can do it. and it's also a good sign that i don't feel like i'm crushing myself under the expectation that I "have to" do it either.

granted I've still got like. no idea what i'm doing in dnfd and will probably still get smoked by people who have studied up, but it feels like i'm actually learning how to play spectre in the most simple-yet-effective for me way and I'm happy that I'm starting to figure out how to do the cool shit with her.

today was a good day.

Congrats on Plat 5!

If you have the capacity to really step back and just learn through the process of growth, it's a lot of general fun, instead of a true grind and slog some force themselves through. Even more than the Plat 5, I'm more glad you're finding the fun!

Yeah. Even when there are times where I feel like I'm "stuck" it's not like it was with SFV where I just kept hovering on the edge of Super/Ultra Gold, couldn't get out, and couldn't understand why. The stepping back + learning part is especially big, I think, because I legitimately cannot remember losing and LAUGHING in SFV like I am in SF6 or DNFD. It's wild and I love it
