Question of the Day!

If your Warrior of Light wasn't the Warrior of Light, what would they be doing instead?

(Alternate: if your character wasn't working in their current job, what would they be doing instead?)

  • Mirita: Still adventuring, but probably would've been around much of Thanalan as opposed to going farther abroad or overseas. Though she really didn't like the orphanage she grew up in, wasn't fond of her caretakers that took her from there, and really wanted out of Ul'dah as soon as it became practical, its closure plus no imminent sweeping up in the fate of Eorzea means she would've eventually felt obligated to try to take care of the kids she knows would've been turned out onto the street.
  • Khorijin: Probably would've left the Steppe still but come back much sooner than she did for the purposes of trying to redeem her showing in the Naadam that she lost. I like to to think that she'd probably be able to win it for the Borlaaq before whoever is the WoL shows up to try to convince the Steppe tribes to throw hands with the Garleans, but it's hard to say given that no small part of why she won it during my Stormblood headcanon is the experience she had as a WoL.
  • Rija: Still part of the Dalmascan resistance. Dalmasca proper is one of her favorite places that isn't the Rak'tika Greatwood or the Golmore Jungle itself, and she'd want to see it liberated, partially because she knows that the Garleans would've eventually had an excuse to come barging into the Golmore Jungle eventually.

Question of the Day!

Your Warrior of Light is going on vacation. Where are they going? What are they doing?

  • Mirita: Ala Mhigo with the M clan. Most of the events of the story kept her from actively enjoying her time there extensively and she wants to hang out there with her clan, eat lots of good food, and sleep a lot. Alternative is going on vacation with Khorijin.
  • Khorijin: Costa del Sol. Despite the shenanigans with the Company of Heroes, she does remember the feast, the weather, and the water quite fondly--she really likes to swim in warm water so you'd probably find her doing that all day. Alternative is going on vacation with Mirita.
  • Rija: The Rak'tika Greatwood. Getting back to Golmore is, at the moment, a Big Ask for her, what with things being rough in Dalmasca, so she'd rather get to the Next Closest Reminder of Home and just spend some time singing Civilizations and hanging out with the Viis over there. (She'd also have an excuse to drop by The Crystarium and give Ryne and Gaia lots of hugs.)

Question of the Day!

Does your Warrior of Light have any partners? Romantic? Platonic? Queerplatonic?

  • Mirita & Khorijin are involved with each other, as I've alluded to in some of my previous QOTD responses. I'd say by late Heavensward they'd figured out that they liked each other romantically, but Khorijin being Khorijin was less on the "I'll tell Mirita that I like her" train, and more on the "I'll tell her by showing her how much I care" train, because stoic Borlaaq Xaela Au Ra is just gonna do the stoic thing instead of actually explaining her feelings. Mirita is very good at learning how to read Khorijin's intentions, though, so sometime by mid-Stormblood (after some of the events in Ala Mhigo where Mirita has had some time to come to grips with finding her whole-ass clan in Ala Mhigo and definitely by the time the Naadam has rolled around) they're very clearly in love with each other from an external point of view and are up-front about their relationship if asked about it. After the Naadam, Sadu...kind of complicates things. Not in a bad way, mind, but more along the lines of "Sadu is crushing on both of them, has made that clear, and they haven't yet figured out if they're fine with this relationship being polyam or not".¹
  • Rija: Thancred comes closest in the romantic and platonic sense. She only really got to know him after the events of ARR, but by the time Stormblood and Shadowbringers comes about she makes a point of connecting with him and trying to draw him out of his more morose shell at that point in time. She makes the biggest effort during Shadowbringers in particular because she knows that the Particular Responsibility he took on at that point is emotionally straining him and she hates seeing him like that. Thancred largely reciprocates this despite a lot of his understandable grief and bitterness at the time, and after Shadowbringers is generally a lot more receptive to Rija's efforts.

¹ For her part, Sadu really does like the both of them beyond just the "god you're hot when you're blowing shit up" type of deal. The seeds of it was mostly involving Mirita and Khorijin's MSQ shenanigans on the Steppe and doing a few of the relevant Dotharli questlines while they were there; Khorijin herself is genuinely respectful of Dotharli spiritual practice, Mirita was very good at going with the flow for the Dotharli in general. Then the Naadam happened and that's when the "god you're hot when you're blowing shit up" part came in. General consensus for the Miri-Khori pair is that they're both fond of Sadu, just that circumstances have made it difficult for them to talk with Sadu about it and see what she would want out of a potential relationship.

Question of the Day!

Tell us about your Warrior of Light's favorite food!

SJHDoesGames
@SJHDoesGames
  • Mirita: anything sweet, which is why she makes her coffee super fucking sweet. Grapes are #1, next to pies and other pastries.
  • Khorijin: spicy foods. She taught Mirita how to make some spicy Steppe food, and once she got to try wasabi in Doma and Hingashi it was a done deal.
  • Rija: Savory foods, usually chicken or pork. She'll take spice as a secondary when Khorijin cooks it.
