The new translation is two steps forward one step back imo, but makes a really interesting point of comparison.
yeah i can totally believe that, NISA’s work on the Trails games has been a really interesting point of comparison vs the XSEED Trails games too

IIRC it was only on the PS4 version; the ports happened after the new translation landed. But since there was a retail release, it means you could buy a disc and just not install patches to get the release build.
someone in my stream community just said they have an original release ps4 disc they never played, i could maybe buy it from them :3
