at the amusement park, there was a fairly young girl, maybe 12 or 13? in a black crop top and low-rise jeans and i really feel that kids these days are lucky that 1995 fashions are not in vogue

a lot of those looks did not age well

i'm sort of curious about how that particular era of fashion came around, is there like, a good history of usa fashion trends spanning like the 1970s to like, the 2010s?

Too long, didn't ask answer incoming: I watched a pretty good video on this if you're interested, but a major thing that's revitalizing (and piecing together old-era fashions into a new style) is this is one of the first generations to have easy access to a hyper-accurate archive to older times, namely the 80s-90s where music videos, TV shows, and movies maintain enough quality to bring into the current archive age.

yeah, that makes a lot of sense, but i'm really more interested in how the looks of the 90s in particular evolved out of the fashion trends that came before

fashion institute of technology actually has a bunch of interesting decade overview articles it turns out, which might help somewhat in piecing this together

but they're definitely mass consumption articles, not like, detailed histories or breakdowns of different prominent styles of the era, so they only go so far

Ahhh, my mistake. I totally missed on the question.

... I will also say I watched a YT video on prior things that built up the 90's fashion specifically. 😅 if there's ever a want to find it.
