I remember this vampire book where the character has to sometimes just do her day job because vampire boys don't pay the rent, so she still has to wake up at 4 and go to work and make the bread or whatever, and it was a nice quiet moment both for her and for me the reader to not have to think about Is The Vampire Actually Hot or Is It Just A Glamour or whatever
