i just didn't know what i was doing. there was so much crackling from hard limiting on the original, and not in a good way. the solo that starts at ~1:53 sounded like it came out of a mega man x game because i didn't put any legato in it. i didn't even really think to use power chords in the rhythm guitar????? weird how experience and some distance can help make a piece better
