A grand and intoxicating innocence

Hey, don't ask me my opinion -- I'm nobody. Just pretend I'm not here.

I mostly just post about things tangentially related to The Simpsons, or Morrowind or The X-COM Files.

I started playing Marvel's Midnight Suns again earlier this week which I haven't played since the month it came out. Good game! Now though, all the DLCs are out and I own them so I started doing their missions on my new run. Each new hero has a mission (maybe more than one?) tied to them that's part of a small overarching plot for the DLC which revolves around vampires.

Sorry, not vampires - vampyres. Those are different from vampires, but are pronounced the same. The game points out how dumb this is and mostly instead refers to them as 'new breed vampires' which is not an acceptable alternative. This whole thing frustrates me, because there is a great alternative which works especially well if you want to be a silly goose about it.

Just fucking pronounce the 'Y'.

Vampyres = Vamp-why-res. Vamp wires. Yeah, you get it. See, much better?

I've been saying this since that Vampyr game came out a few years back, because doing vampire with a 'Y' to be special is fuckin' dumb, but pronouncing the 'Y' is fun and cool and heroic and makes me feel like I have control and like I'm a big important person.

So in conclusion, if you're gonna spell something silly at least say it silly you goofus. You freakin' dingus maringus. Proper clown writers putting letters where they don't belong I don't care about your etymological or historical excuses, no don't you walk away from me I'll k-
