Devious Bec

Weird thing I've run into while transitioning is it's impacted how I self-deprecate. If I'm alone and I do something dumb or clumsy then I'll reactively insult myself in some way, but as my perception of myself changes my instinct is to use female gendered insults. What happens is though, I'll pour milk into my drink bottle instead of a measuring cup or something and start to insult myself and then freeze and think "Oh god Becky you would never say that about somebody else, why are you saying it about yourself!" It's pretty useful as I'd like to self-deprecate less in general and it's I guess a bit eye-opening that I've got this I guess masc-socialised idea that male gendered insults are a-ok but female ones are taboo. Is this what you call internalised misogyny? I don't know!
