instead of a like button, comments should have an 👁 button that the OP can click to mark the comment as having been observed

I have been wondering about that. For one thing, I doubt I'm going to get much interaction on this website because it's not like I'm popular anywhere and can just tell people to look for me here lmao, but I don't know how cohost is going to notify users when their posts are commented on and liked. Maybe through notifs? Who knows. I have seen discussion of a "like" or "upvote" system in the comments of the dev posts though - I hope they implement something like that because I do prefer those simple ways to interact/acknowledge ppl like you say, and of course I wonder how the website will notify us of that as well
