this is so dumb and i'm having so much fuckin fun

Want to fill your game with wacky bullshit? here's how. Gonna start with the easiest stuff (adding mods), then talk about the annoying stuff (adding characters/new skateboards), then finish with some random mods I think are cool as fuck and you should try

TO INSTALL MODS/MAPS

• Go to https://thunderstore.io/c/bomb-rush-cyberfunk/
• Download R2ModMan
• Install r2modman, open it up, and choose bomb rush cyberfunk. This is... really self explanatory
• Once it's setup and on the page for bomb rush cyberfunk (you should see that you have no mods installed) just... click on any mod on the thunderstore page, and click on the "install with mod manager" button for it to automatically install. That's all it takes! wanna download chicago from tony hawk's pro skater? just go to the page for it, click "install with mod manager", and r2modman will handle everything including all other necessary prerequisite mods. It's literally just that easy.
• To play the game with your mods, just click "launch modded" on r2modman!
• NOTE: YOU WILL SEE CHARACTER MODS ON THUNDERSTORE.IO THAT USE "CHARACTER API": DON'T USE THESE. All the modern character stuff uses crewboom, which i explain below; character api is a lot worse lol and often causes bugs in my experience.

TO ADD CHARACTERS

• Use the above to install CREWBOOM
• Launch the game once modded, just so crewboom can setup the necessary folders
• Go into r2modman, click "settings" then click "browse profile folder"
• This will open up a folder; you want to go into \BepInEx\config\CrewBoom\
• Go to the Bomb Rush Cyberfunk page on Gamebanana and download any funny skins you want. I fucking hate gamebanana but it's the only place people upload skins.
• **Note: Double check that a skin's page says it's compatible with Crewboom. If you're not sure, the download should have a .cbb file and a .json file in it. If it doesn't, don't bother, all other character mod stuff is annoying as fuck
• Copy the .json and .cbb file into the \BepInEx\config\CrewBoom\ folder. You don't need to make subfolders or anything, just every character needs a .json and a .cbb sitting around in there.
• All your guys will be installed next time you boot up the game; just go to a dance spot to switch em up!
• NOTE: sometimes a character mod will say it requires "dripremix" or has a bunch of other folders in the download; that's probably to add a cool custom skateboard or something. you do not need to bother with anything except the cbb and the json. see below for adding gear

TO ADD COOL GEAR AND STUFF

• Use the first section to install DRIPREMIX
• Boot up the game once modded, just so it can setup the necessary folders
• Go to your game on steam, right click, click "browse local files" to open up the game's home on ur compy
• Go into \ModdingFolder\BRC-DripRemix\
• REPLACE EVERYTHING HERE WITH THE CONTENTS OF THE "EXAMPLES.ZIP" FOLDER FOUND ON THE THUNDERSTORE PAGE FOR DRIP REMIX. Yes it's weird you have to do this manually. You'll want to. It makes everything easier. Dripremix should now have a "characters" folder and a "gears" folder.
• To install new gear, find it at sigh Gamebanana, and copy the stuff you download to it's respective folders in the Gear section. This should be something you can figure out yourself, and yes it's annoying, dripremix is dumb.
• Once all the stuff you added is in it's correct place in the gears folder, boot up the game, choose your character, and then hold down G and press PgUp and PgDn to change colors/sprites, and hold down g while pressing Home and End to choose a new model. this will let you switch between all the random shit you have installed in the "skateboard" folder of your dripremix folders. It's annoying you have to do it this way, but it works.

COOL MODS TO CHECK OUT

• Slopcrew transforms the entire game into an MMO. You can encounter other players, interact with them, challenge them to battles, and you'll see every other character currently online with slopcrew as you play. This shit is wild, only install it if you really want to do something Weird with your game
• Wallplant lets you bounce off walls if you time shit right. Feels amazing
• Bomb Rush Radio lets you add custom music to the game. It takes a bit of finagling (like the stuff above) but is relatively simple; just add any music file you want to (your game's root directory from steam)/Bomb Rush Cyberfunk_Data/StreamingAssets/Mods/BombRushRadio/Songs/". Yes, they all use different paths. I hate it.
• Jakes Interior LETS YOU HANG OUT AT JAKES BRO LETS GO TO JAKES
• Ring Movestyle and Movestyler: The first adds a sick "spinny in big ring" option to the skateboard/bmx/skate trio, the second lets you switch between movestyles on your phone
• Millenium Wonderland is a christmas expansion that completely changes one of the in-game areas to be christmas themed, adding new sidequests, collectibles, minigames, and characters to it. It's really really wildly huge.
• Movement Plus is a fucking weird one; it changes how in game movement works to let you conserve momentum and go really, really fast. This mod is not really... balanced for the base game, but if you want to fuck around and really get good at flying all over the map from jump to jump, this is the fucking mod. A lot of big players use this one for fun.

There's a ton of others, check em out! Just... don't do any character API stuff. all that stuff is outdated.
