as much as i think this is the best timeline-oriented site (if the only option were twitter/bsky i would simply not be on social media at all), i do still yearn for topic-based organisation again. its much more... comfortable? to join an ongoing discussion you can find again than it is to pitch a post out into everything and kinda hope that someone whos interested will see it? i get that theres tags, but near-identical ones arent aggregated, you dont know which are used regularly, and theres no... sense of flow between the posts? i dont know how to phrase it eloquently

in reply to @Samikatz's post:

I feel like at least some of this is by-design, your posts are only as discoverable as you want them to be and all; and while I understand the reasons why, you're right, conversations can suffer as a result. Some of this can be resolved as the site scales up over time and all, but it also may well be that the staff doesn't see the current state of affairs as an issue they need to address.

yeah i dont feel theres a consistent site "vibe" if that makes sense. i tend to follow some similar people but theres no like... shared events

that said most "shared events" on twitter were "someone is being horrible" so shrug!!!
