i was thinking of doing a "my favourite albums of the year" post but tbh ive listened to so much new to me stuff (partially because of atg) that ive kinda forgotten what came out this year specifically, mostly? >.> and like how do i trim down what would be a huge list easily?

i kinda have a good at least like, initial filter of "i liked these albums enough to purchase them on bandcamp" which makes it a lot easier to go through than just crawling my last.fm for every single album i listened to this year (even stuff that wasn't released this year)
but even with that, making a curated list is really hard. you could just pick some of your stand outs and accept that it'll be an incomplete list (even trying to make a top 25 myself, i forgot an album that i really really liked and should have made it)
