• They/Them

A real "we've got a nephew" of graphic design and illustration, mental illness held at bay by a very nice vegetable garden and cats.

Lapsed printmaker, you should ask me about it and I'll be very weird

The 25 strawberry plants arrived way earlier than anticipated, so they have been planted right in the box they were delivered in. Hopefully they'll do okay? The recommended day for planting is around May 1st, and Michigan is known for having very capricious weather this time of year.

The green planter has zucchini, and the brown one has tomatoes (grown from seeds taken right from store tomatoes!). Behind that is a long bin with peat pots, with cucumber, bell peppers, and a variety of hot peppers.

And that isn't all I need to start from seed either! The rest of the seeds will be arriving next week ❤️

IMPORTANT TIP! If you ever need a lot of soil (say 4 cubic yards), totally recommend getting soil in bulk from a landscape supply! I was looking at nearly $800 in bags of soil, but it was only $210 for bulk.

Well look at it this way - the messier it is, the bigger a success the actual gardening part must be! And it's your first time trying this solo, so don't be too hard on yourself if you stumble. I know tomatoes from seed can be tricky but from what I understand once you've got a successful zucchini going you will be able to eat zucchini until death.
