• They/Them

A real "we've got a nephew" of graphic design and illustration, mental illness held at bay by a very nice vegetable garden and cats.

Lapsed printmaker, you should ask me about it and I'll be very weird

The weather continues to be very Michigan, with it snowing on May 1st - and on May 2nd, when 5 cubic yards of dirt is set to arrive ;u;

The strawberries have had a bad case of rot - the soil I used was too dense. I was recommended to try and replant them in 50% perlite and 50% coco noir, with a little soil thrown in. I salvaged about 14 of the 20 plants, but we'll see if they survive.

One of the garden bed boxes arrived broken, and I didn't realize until after the return date that four of the corner brackets were missing. We had some leftover galvanized sheet metal from a furnace replacement, so a friend came over with some electric shears to cut out the rough shape. With a clipper, bender, and a drill I managed to fashion four new corners! You can see one in photo 3. Only one was a little wonky, but otherwise it worked out.

Two beds are fully assembled, and the rest are mostly assembled, just need the center supports put in. Here's hoping the weather warms up soon!
