Went to pick up my meds only to find out my time is up and Concerta/methylphenidate is now suffering from the same shortages as Adderall. I'll be out until I see my primary in late January, but to be honest I'm not hopeful.

A real "we've got a nephew" of graphic design and illustration, mental illness held at bay by a very nice vegetable garden and cats.
Lapsed printmaker, you should ask me about it and I'll be very weird

Fuck! I hope the withdrawal symptoms aren't too bad. I know not having it will suck.
ooof, my condolences, I've had to deal with that shit before, why is it so hard to get ADHD meds, what have we done to the world that this is the punishment we deserve
Looked a little, and it's largely drug manufacturers and the government pointing blame at each other. Drug manufacturers are each allotted a quota of amphetamines, but are not legally required to report how much they have left. So the manufacturers are saying they don't have any left and need to be allotted more, pinky promise they've used it all. The government says that there's a missing billion doses worth of amphetamine material already out there, so some companies are just sitting on stockpiles and refusing to return materials so they can be given to other companies.
The Adderall shortage started nearly a year ago now and nothing was done, and the government seems more keen on blaming the pandemic laws that loosened requirements that doctors strictly see patients in person to prescribe, that people are being overprescribed with telehealth visits.
