being transgender is about thinking "hmm. something is up with my gender"

A real "we've got a nephew" of graphic design and illustration, mental illness held at bay by a very nice vegetable garden and cats.
Lapsed printmaker, you should ask me about it and I'll be very weird
being transgender is about thinking "hmm. something is up with my gender"
every year i have my hemming and hawwing session when i open the dusty jar of gender that sits in the back of my closet and ask it "how ya doing in there lil guy" and it hoots at me and i nod and put the lid back.
It took me so long to get to the point where I was willing to accept that, but: yeah that's it. That's all there is to it
my car has that and a blinking orange arrow that means "TRANSMISSION FAILURE!!!" (it's only a mild failure)
and then continuing to be haunted by it, just in evolving ways, yeah
Adjusting my rear-view mirror and squinting confusedly when I notice my Gender back there
I just ate my gender. I was hungry and I wasn't using it. Didn't taste good tbh, but it beat nothing.
