During thanksgiving my brother introduced me to the hot new drink for upper middle class drinkers, the Finnish Long drink. Unfortunately, I already love gin, and and love grapefruit, so obviously I love this stuff as well.
However, each case of 6 is like $11-12, and I am in too low of a tax bracket for that nonsense.
I found a recipe via The Gin is In (https://theginisin.com/articles/the-story-of-the-finnish-long-drink/) that did a couple of tests with different grapefruit sodas, and I trusted this! They suggested that Fresca was one of the best out of four. I trusted them :C
I feel like a lot of people are not bothered or cannot taste fake sugars, because the first sip I could taste nothing but aspartame. Besides that, the juniper taste wasn't strong enough for the gin I was using*. Going to try Squirt, and after that, some grapefruit syrup added to soda water
I like this drink, I'm gonna crack the code on this!!!
*Sam's Club gin is a relatively mild and smooth gin, especially for the price! I heard rumors that it's the same recipe as Hendricks, but it's not that good. Better than Tanqueray, less dry than Beefeater, but not as cucumber forward as Hendricks.
