• They/Them

A real "we've got a nephew" of graphic design and illustration, mental illness held at bay by a very nice vegetable garden and cats.

Lapsed printmaker, you should ask me about it and I'll be very weird

Damn I don't know if I've been underwatering or if actual rainfall is that much better, but I swear my garden grew overnight!

The first photo is from 6/5, the second 6/13. Maybe it's just when plants get going, they really get going. Gardening kicks ass.

I would appreciate it if the zucchini stopped bullying the strawberries though. Calm down elephant ears.

Looks like it's a striped cucumber beetle, perched on a ground cherry leaf. I don't think he's here for the cherries though, probably the cantaloupe in the same bed. The holes might be flea beetles, as the internet indicates tiny, shotgun holes on nightshade plants are their m/o.

I'm still looking into solutions for both, but if you have any recommendations, I would be grateful!

It's felt like five minutes and five ever, but some vegetables are starting to grow!!! A tiny bell pepper the size of my thumbnail, a itty bitty zucchini, and the first flower on the ground cherries.

I do need to trim off the rest of the pepper plant flowers, as the plants are really short and small yet. To my understanding, trimming off the flowers will force the plant to focus on growing more.
