someone had made a pumpkin patch where you could carve a pumpkin. When I was making the pumpkin, carving away the holes, trimming off the surface, I felt like I was making something wonderfully imperfect. Variation on a planned theme I'd made. I could undo anything, but why would I, when beauty is in the imperfection that I made?
