the biggest thing I can say for community building or doing left organizing work or whatever is to write things down. not the things you shouldn't write down, but like, learning a new thing? write it down even if it makes you take longer to return the end product.

first time editing a video because of a need of whatever group you're in? it sucks but write a guide, or have someone else write while you describe what you're doing

first time in a particular admin role? extra paperwork, but like, you also get to trade off that role faster. etc etc etc. don't write down shit that shouldn't be written down.

the guides don't have to be good, they can be bullet points, whatever. they just have to be there.

you're saving the person who comes next to you effort and time, which they can then put towards improving on what you did. that's all it is. it's how we get out of this mess, one of the ways, just at the microscale. you gotta write things down. I know it sucks.

but someone finding it means work they didn't have to do, that they can now put towards improving on it. you understand how powerful that is?

if you don't write it down, it can't grow outside your presence. Write yourself out of a job so you can put your time and effort towards one that improves on it.

people stopped teaching anyone anything and just assuming they had the requisite knowledge, and now the way the world is going has accelerated. It doesn't take much to work against that and have big impacts.
