quiet though this year has seemed from me, a number of projects and pieces have slowly been mellowing and maturing in the quiet of their casks. the first of which i offer for you today -
a trio of improvisations for solo piano, tape, bucket brigade & digital delays, originally written around the same time as the song "to turn and remove the key" i released 4 or so months ago. took inspiration from a number of italian minimalist composers from the 60s onward through the 80s, as well as the playful cinematics of dominique lawalrée with a touch of william basinski's melanchoilia/deluge/cascade
originally, i had no intention of releasing these, but revisiting them after some time away i found them to be quite fun to listen to in their way. notes fading and receding like crashed waves or weathered memories, layering and accompanying to create the illusion of a additional performer or playing a flurry more notes than i actually was
