firin up the ol' KOTOR again. Hopefully on the second time around the opening doesn't suck so hard.

One Canuck built the #ttrpg tag and the #mecha tag. And that was me.

Interesting! Which game are you playing? I've always found the opening of KOTOR 1 kind of charming; trask ulgo and the endar spire as a memorable and straightforward tutorial. On the flip side, KOTOR 2's frustrating and alienating and never-ending hours of janky opening before you get anywhere is deeply unfun and not something I could recommed in good faith.
I agree that Kotor 2’s opening is excruciating, but the reason I’m gritting my teeth for the opening of KOTOR 1 is that I always have this glitch where my character doesn’t move after I end a fight.
hey, i get the same glitch in kotor2! no idea how to fix it.. it's the worst
the way i get around it in kotor 1 is to control an npc and walk around for a while. After a bit i can swap back to my character and all is good.
The good opening is when you aren't on a different shift from your roommate and you two have a rich, meaningful relationship.
