initial character vibes from the campaign discord:

basically, think of her as galo from promare, kamina from gurren lagann, and blossom from powerpuff girls thrown in a blender. she believes in the you that believes in her. you know that moment in 90s cartoons where it turns out the older sister who picks on the protagonist is actually very cool & believes in & supports them when the chips are down? that's PALADIN's every moment. my like, anchor image for her approaching a scared kid who she needs to calm down & take into her cockpit for transport—she kneels her mech in front of them, popping open the cockpit and reaching out her hand with a confident smile, before asking "So, you want help me punch some fascists? ✨"

  • flew into the air and wrecked a mech and a half with a missile barrage on my first turn
  • captured a Harrison Armory-hired mercenary by shoving them in my Expanded Compartment after they surrendered
  • got into it with a PC from the Core Worlds about Sanjak & planetary autonomy
  • taught texas hold 'em—in character—to another character (whose player did not know how to play) then played 7 rounds of in character texas hold 'em against the other PCs (a Union Navy unit) and one DOJ-HR liberator. we took all of the liberator's money.

Something I really enjoyed about playing Spire with characters with politics strongly developed in session zero was when we had to have the tough talk about our characters politics in character. All so we could figure out how to proceed vis a vis operating together in the cell. I eat that shit up.
