Sometimes a project is exactly the thing your brain needs for a creative jump start. After extensive testing and failures, I managed to print a mask (bought the pattern from Ceredir Cosplay) that fits decently. I need to do a bunch of sanding and painting but I love when I can see things come together!
I also made Rhasan tape up my upper torso, and after a bunch of trial and error, I now have an upper torso template. I ordered fabric to do the thing I'm trying for the top, and now I need to figure out the dress and corset.
I drew a concept sketch, which I am bravely posting even though I think it is terrible because everyone I know is a great artist and this is the first time I have done concept art since I was 12. However, it was useful in getting an idea of what I want to do and you have to start somewhere.
my fancy dress form (happy 45th birthday to me next Tuesday) arrived, but I forgot to preemptively order draping tape but refusing to be thwarted, I cut up some painting tape since my draping tape doesn't arrive until Monday.
I made some adjustments because I am one of the people who can't actually visualize in their head, and so I work way better in 3 dimensional design space. Next up I have to draft a corset and then do a few test fits, but at least I have an idea what I want the shapes to be.
Also I found these boots secondhand, and provided they actually arrive, I think they'll be perfect.
