One Canuck built the #ttrpg tag and the #mecha tag. And that was me.

hi fellow cosplay tag users! the "#cosplay" tag has a few overlapping use cases1 and i want to come up with one that is specifically for IRL cosplay: costuming, congoing, the crafting, that sort of thing.

so I'm going to start using "#cosplay on cohost" tag just for distinguishment's sake! i would be very happy if other IRL cosplayers also used it. Thank you!

i'm going to keep using the "#cosplay" tag, i just also wanted a more specific tag that fits within it. yeehaw

  1. 1)drawn art of characters dressed as other characters, 2)IRL cosplay, and 3)the porn/kink category! which overlaps with both of the other categories also

in reply to @gearstation's post:

“IRL cosplay” is more bluntly descriptive, but it’s kind of clunky and not actually used by cosplayers at large to describe themselves IME! I used it in the post because it’s a very short way to get the idea across but i’m not actually super fond of it 🤔

“Cosplay of cohost” is vaguer on the face but I’m optimistic that clicking on it and scrolling the tag will make the meaning clear. I also wanted to pick something similar to “cohost crafts” which engenders a sense of community to the tag, rather than just being descriptive alone! I would have mirrored that tag and gone with “cohost cosplay” but it doesnt roll off the tongue quite as well LMAOOO

This is probably more of an answer than you wanted but i had fun writing out the subconscious choices I made hahaha
