instead of "global" tags, I want to promote big-tent tagging, where we all just juice up one tag so that if someone bookmarks it, they can just have a ton of content all in one tag. Take #mecha for example. I set up shop there with my side blog because it was the least used of the mech tags (mech, mecha, mechs) and I just started posting once a day because hell, I have just as much a right to post daily in it as anyone else. It's something to see in the tag itself. A reason to check up on it. Hopefully, the more active a tag is results in more people posting in it in hopes that they get more eyes on it. So for best posting practices, I want to suggest that we try the following:
- Check for active tags that could be used for your post
- Don't load up a post with multiple variations of a tag, or wholecloth create new tags when an old one will do
- aim to juice up one tag
