well I ran a game of Robins where we played through the top level of Goblin Archive's "The Bureau" which is for Liminal Horror. Here's a play report with special praise for the "Ego Dungeon" rules of Robins. I'd say it went well! We didn't run into any big snags. I really enjoyed the Ego Dungeon rules where you do a quick dungeon of 1-10 rooms (Think of it like a Heart Delve) to fight a boss who can be very dangerous.
There's something about like, the bossfight room where it doesn't come together until you actually hit it. The Bureau Floor One spoilers on Overseer Hillux under the jump.
So, the room description is pretty simple. There's a sea of 200 cubicles in a grid. There's an elevated managers office in the center that has a view of the whole room. There's the Overseer in there, and his eyes are glowing red.
And when we hit it, I just found myself asking for a save to see if you would be caught in the dim red lightbeam gaze of this Overseer. What followed from there was that if you were in the gaze and failed a roll, then it's warranted that you get hit by a 1d8 piercing stare.
From there we were immediately trying to figure out how to get the player characters into his dreams. One player revealed a spell of darkness that would render the whole room pitchblack. Everyone else had to do a medium skill challenge to keep the gaze of the Overseer off of their fellow Robin. They were barely successful, working together to draw the attention of this manager in his strange concrete and glass lighthouse, where he was the beacon and lens. Someone breaks the glass and another fires a bolt at him. He burns the bolt into cinders with his red eyes but still topples off the back of the tower, falling to the floor and unable to react to this spell of darkness.
And after a pretty quick montage (i made 2 1d10 tables for a setting and an entity for each superego dungeon room) of going through this guy's dreams, the Robins dealt damage and defeated him. It kind of ruled to have an alternative to the regular ttrpg combat that really makes those big fights against stronger enemies really special.
