Finished Deep Space 9. Wow. There’s some acting in that show man. Imo it blows TNG out of the water.
I really enjoyed watching Gul Dukat becoming more and more wretched, but Avery Brooks really does make a good leading man. The writing for Sisko really presents him as this professional hardass who is internally just trying to rise above the bullshit, but there are also moments where he’s sharing vulnerabilities with the people he’s close too. What more, I really enjoyed how Sisko does not see the word as post-racial. His objection to attending the Vegas holosuite was really a moment of “oh this is a perfectly reasonable objection” and immediately after that I was realizing that people must have written about this and the rest of the journey Sisko goes on.
