Who would be on your ideal 5-man team of Star Wars characters for basketball? Assume no repeat characters and that you can pluck your choices from anytime they're featured on screen
jar jar (tall). obi-wan (known for having the high ground). at least one kaminooan (also tall). bix caleen (i just get the feeling she'd be good at it). sheev palpatine (self-explanatory)
Kaminooan is a game changer - I completely neglected them. They do seem to move slowly most of the time, but you never know. They could be a beast on the court

Sheev Palpatine the player with the most lifetime fouls in CBA (Coruscant Basketball Association) history but he always gets out of them by virtue of his apprentice being the ref (Rule of Two says you kill your apprentice if they don't let you foul). Obi-Wan the player with the second most fouls in league history. I don't know why but it just makes sense, Obi-Wan just seems like the kind of player who'd elbow-check and travel at least once in every single game
i need to see these fools play against Drath Vader, Savage Opress, Zaalbar (Big Z), Cal Kestis (a double jump he has), and Chopper (he got that dog in him)
the image of Vader palming a ball after taking a pass in the post...terrifying. He would have Lakers era Shaq's game. just a monster.
"I see that you're not getting any help crashing in from the perimeter. Brave...and...FOOLISH!" (He says "brave and foolish!" in a cadence that matches a single power dribble, putting his shoulder in his defender's chest, then bodying his way to the rim for a one-handed jam)
Now BB-8, C-3PO, Kit Fisto, Tera Sinube, and Babu Frik have to bring Michael Jordan out of retirement to beat these five.
I don't think they're an 'optimal' team, but my draft for "Legends of YMCAs across the Galaxy" is as follows:
PRINCESS LEIA ORGANA is a hard-nosed and aggressive point guard, whose no-mercy iso-oriented offense compliments the pick-and-roll game for shooting guard, CHIRRUT ÎMWE and small forward, BAZE MALBUS. Down in the post, IG-11's shocking hand agility and spatial awareness has made their rebounding and no-look passes things of legend. The acerbic and lanky K-2SO's shot-blocking ability locks down the rim on defense and he's a constant 'oop threat on offense.
