I agree about numbers, I disagree about likes and shares. Cohost is not a comment-heavy platform, and without those, there’s very little indication that you’re not shouting into the void, which imo sucks ass.
Any despair I had that I was shouting into the void only left me with the resolve to shout louder and more eloquently.
i guess the question is then: what means does cohost (as platform, community, and set of individual users) have to cultivate that resolve and eloquence? it can still very much feel like a leap of faith to let go of the metrics of recognition that other platforms train us on
(i guess part of the answer is what you're already doing, encouraging others that the leap is worth it)
