I had a wild notion that I was going to put together a playlist of songs I liked as a child, but then I realized I already did, at least for the 80s, anyway. I might do another one for the 90s, but I didn't actively hate as much of that decade. But yeah, when most folks refer to the 80s, they either experienced it first hand grew up in much different (read: whiter, richer) circumstances than I did, or they didn't experience it first hand and are looking at it through the lens of people who fit the former. Not to be too pointed about it, but there a lot of TV shows and movies that'll have you believing that the 80s was an Amblin fever dream.
ANYWAY. I've loved music since I was a very little DJ Regular, so here's a playlist of the sort of stuff I enjoyed back then.
