I don't play, but I was listening to this week's Remap Radio and a listener email addressed a theory on some signs of toxicity (certain players team killing others that aren't 'pulling their weight') they're seeing pop up in the game lately. The gist being that other games where those sorts of folks would flock to having update issues, so they're flocking to the new hotness and attempting to exert their will.

I think that's just a way that people engage with video games! I used to play Rainbow Six: Siege and found similar people. Some people aren't content with the results of their performance and will use friendly fire to take it out on others.

I thought this was largely limited to serial teamkilling, kicking people before Extracts, fragging the party & taking samples then quitting out, and uh. Reversing planet progress via starting missions, grabbing any Medals, Super Credits, and Requisition Forms and then quitting out so-as to farm them at an exceedingly rapid rate.

I don't rate that last one very highly at all, there was talk of a specific intervention for the farming problem. I wouldn't know, as I've quit the game after about 100hrs.
